What siding and trim replacement looks like with us

Paint cannot fix wood that has rotted or siding that has swollen and split, and a painter who paints over it is just hiding the problem for a season. Brush Masters replaces the damaged pieces - siding boards, trim, fascia, soffit, door and window casing - and then paints them with the rest of the house, so the repair is invisible. Inside, the same carpentry covers door and trim replacement and finish work. One customer wrote that before painting the shutters and porch, "they replaced any wood that needed it."

What’s included

Siding boards, fascia and soffit replaced
Door, window and base trim replaced
Primed and painted to match the rest of the house

Where exterior wood fails first

Damage almost always starts in the same places, where water sits or runs:

  • The bottom row of siding, especially where it sits close to soil, mulch or a patio.
  • Behind and below downspouts and gutters that overflow.
  • Fascia boards and the ends of trim boards, where the end grain soaks up water.
  • Window sills and the bottoms of door casings.
  • Anywhere hail has cracked the paint and let water in behind it.

Replacing only what has gone

Most houses do not need new siding all the way round. Rot and swelling tend to concentrate on one or two walls and near the ground. Replacing just the damaged boards and trim, then painting the whole house so the new pieces blend in, usually costs a fraction of re-siding - and it is often the smartest thing to do before an exterior repaint.

Interior trim and doors

Inside, finish carpentry covers swapping old hollow doors for new ones, replacing baseboard and casing, and fixing trim that has split or pulled away from the wall. Doing it alongside an interior repaint means the new trim gets primed and painted with everything else, instead of standing out as the one bright, new piece in the room.
